GamePowerPlan Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026

GamePowerPlan is a small Windows tray app made by Ryan Keller. It switches your Windows power plan while a game is running. This policy explains what it does with your information.

The short version

GamePowerPlan does not collect, store, share or send any personal information. It has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no internet connection of its own.

What the app looks at

To tell whether a game is running, the app checks the file path of each program that is running on your PC and compares it with a list of game folders. This happens only on your computer. The paths are not saved, logged or sent anywhere.

What the app saves

The app saves its settings in a file called GamePowerPlan.cfg on your own PC. It contains things like your check interval, grace period, icon colours, hotkey, chosen power plans, the game folders you have added and the programs you have chosen to ignore. This file stays on your computer. You can open it from the tray menu, and you can delete it at any time.

If you use the app's "Start with Windows" option, the app asks Windows to launch it at login. That setting is kept by Windows.

What the app changes

The app changes your active Windows power plan, and nothing else on your system. It does not touch your games, read game memory or add overlays.

Network and third parties

The app does not connect to the internet and does not use any third party services. No information is shared with anyone, because none is collected.

If you install the app from the Microsoft Store, the Store itself may collect information such as download counts and crash reports under Microsoft's own privacy policy. I do not receive personal information from that.

Children

The app collects no information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, I will update this page and the date at the top.
